Moving a 20,000 m² warehouse's entire network, in three weeks

Buffalo International Logistics was relocating to a much larger warehouse on a tight timeline, while still locked into a fibre contract at the old premises. Fire-IT got them out of the contract, kept them online through the move, and built the new site from the ground up.

Moving 25 TB off mechanical drives, in out-of-hours windows

Twenty-five terabytes of production data sat on mechanical drives, on a Hyper-V estate that had outgrown the hardware beneath it, with no copy of any of it outside the building. Fire-IT stood up a temporary host, moved the data across weekends and evenings, rebuilt their own hardware on flash, and gave them backups that leave the site.

75 TB in a month, on a gigabit they could finally use

They were already paying for a gigabit and could barely use it. Most providers shape and share the capacity they sell, which is the part nobody explains on the invoice: a 1 Gbps line contended 1:10 is a gigabit you queue for. Fire-IT moved them onto a dedicated 1:1 line, unshaped, delivered from our own rack in Cape Town. They moved 75 TB the following month.

Mail that never reached Microsoft 365, and a site nobody would wait for

Their website was crawling and their email was disappearing. The web server still considered itself the mail exchanger for a domain whose mail lives in Microsoft 365, so everything the site sent was delivered into a mailbox on the web server: reported as sent, never bounced, never seen. Meanwhile a web application firewall in front of the site had page loads reaching 140 seconds, and with it switched off the site still took 3.59 seconds to paint. The client was reporting a drop in sales over the same period.

Off a third-party platform onto colocated hardware that runs 20× faster

A partner since 2016, WiZe Books grew into a leading South African higher-education academic-materials provider. Fire-IT moved them off a third-party provider onto purpose-built hardware in our colocation facility, connected their branches on a secure network, hardened their Microsoft 365, and delivered a twentyfold performance gain.

Rebuilding the hosting behind a CPU-bound app to slash task times

Eezi Move's custom booking-and-diary system was struggling on third-party hosting, slowing reports and daily operations across branches. Fire-IT worked with their developers to find the bottleneck and rebuilt the hosting around it.
